Pleasure-lovers to the core, sensual Pigs know how to have fun. They love indulging in the good life, and at times, go too far into excess. But that’s a Pig: over the top and not afraid of it. Although they enjoy luxury, Pigs have more of a “new money” approach to it, and can err on the side of tacky. They know how to laugh at themselves, and could care less, since they’re usually laughing all the way to the bank.
Provocative Pigs enjoy power, and gladly stir up controversy. They will be the person in the room who “goes there.” Your little Pig may be the child who ends up in detention for challenging the teacher, or playing the class clown. Hobbies that use their creative or expressive talents can keep your Pig from turning into a mud-slinger. Enroll this kid in dance, painting, singing or even cooking class. Playful Pigs can be the life of the party, too. They may be indulgent, but they love to share the fun and wealth with their loved ones. Joie de vivre is their trademark.
Showy Pigs love to flaunt their status, and can throw a good insult at their foes. At times, greed can be an issue for this sign. Their desires easily get the best of them. Most Pigs can benefit from a little self-restraint and discipline. And they’re best off incorporating it themselves, rather than having the law or life impose limits on them.
The best way to tame a power-tripping Pig is to give this sign a leadership post that comes with accountability to his peers. The fear of “looking bad” to those he/she admires can be enough to keep the wily Pig on the straight and narrow. It’s like reverse-engineering peer pressure to create a win-win scenario: the Pig gets to be the Alpha but in a way that creates positive energy and outcomes.
Don’t underestimate the power of a good reward system, too. Incentives work wonders with young Pigs. Of course, you’ll need to be sparing with those, as your Pig can quickly become manipulative. The phrase “because I said so” may become your mantra.
