Hello, untamed spirit! Wild and unbreakable, Horses need to run free and make their own rules. Social anxiety doesn’t exist in their world. These are the kids who are the first to leap up for Show ‘n Tell, snag a chorus solo or run for class president. Confidence is a non-issue for many Horse kids, who can be precocious and outspoken little spotlight stealers.
When they’re not courting controversy, Horses have a talent for attracting it. This is the kid who could wind up in time-out regularly, but will also keep the family entertained on long car trips. Or, they’ll organize their siblings and cousins to do a skit at big holiday dinners. Ever wanted a kid you could dress up in stylish little outfits? Count on a Horse to be your miniature diva or dandy.
Chatty Horses are the life of every party. Untamed and restless, they’re always finding new books, people and ideas, and will plunge into new experiences as quickly as they leave them. Horses love to inspire open-mindedness, and encourage their friends to see new perspectives. They have unforgettable laughs and when they smile, may expose a prominent set of “horsey” teeth.
Watch a tendency for your Horse to be a “jack of all trades, master of none.” This sign bores easily, and may start a lot more projects than they actually finish. Before you buy your diminutive dilettante top-of-the-line equipment for his latest hobby, make sure this is more than just a passing fancy. Your talkative Horse is the kid who may be called “A.D.D.” and will thrive in a more interactive school environment.
Just as successful riders know how to use the right amount of tension and slack on their reins, parents of a Horse must set boundaries that are firm but not overly restrictive.
According to legend, many Horses leave home to strike out on their own, often at a young age. While they can remain close to their families of origin, they have a strong need to carve their own paths. The original rebels, many Horses will set up unique family structures or march to their own beat. (Horse-born Ashton Kutcher, for instance, became a stepfather to Demi Moore’s three teen daughters while still in his 20s.)
The parents of a Horse must let this little one roam free. Dashing and dapper, Horses have unforgettable energy that reminds us all to stay young at heart.
